Case study · Website rescue
Zanbooredana
Zanbooredana, “the wise bee”, was a Persian site for children from about 2012, full of crafts, science builds, games, stories, and poems. The original site was gone, and only the Internet Archive still held copies of it. It was rebuilt from those copies into a new site, with the classic honeycomb home page kept as it was.

What the rescue took
The archive, downloaded by script
The Internet Archive’s own index was used to download 1,316 files saved between 2011 and 2013, kept byte for byte so the Persian text came through intact.
Lost images found
Images missing from one copy were searched for across every year of the archive. About 600 came back. The 361 that were never archived anywhere show a clear placeholder instead.
Clean posts from old pages
The text of 237 blog posts was pulled out of the old WordPress pages, and 233 of them are on the new site, regrouped into seven clear topics.
Flash games playing again
Browsers dropped Flash years ago. Nine of the original games were recovered and now play right in the post pages through Ruffle, an open-source Flash player.
The old look and a new site
The honeycomb home page stays for anyone who remembers it, and visitors on phones go straight to the new site, which fits any screen.
A fresh forum
The old forum could not be recovered, so the site has a new one, backed by a small database.
